I’ve been working my way through Job over the past two days, and I’m amazed at how the oldest book in the Bible can be so relevant to our lives today. Let me give you three simple things you learn from Job.
When your friend is going through pain don’t assume you know why. You aren’t God, you often don’t know why this happened, and acknowledging that is actually helpful.
Listen. When your friend is suffering, they don’t need answers they need someone to listen and encourage.
You can’t always fix it. No matter what Job’s friends said they could not fix the situation. This is often the case with you and your friends. You can’t always fix it. Sometimes you just have to go through it with them.
If we were to put these three simple things into practice, we would become much better friends, family members, leaders, and coworkers.
