Just three reminders for you today. I tell myself these things all the time, over and over. Christ died so that you would be able to enjoy life—the good and the bad. Relax. Because of Christ you and God are ok. He’s excited about you. God’s on your side.

Resting In Him
Have you ever rested in God? Listen to this next verse: Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1 NLT Have you ever found rest in His shadow? I love the imagery that the psalmist uses. It’s this idea that we areContinue reading “Resting In Him”
Blessed
I’m just overwhelmed tonight by how blessed I am. It’s an unbelievable opportunity to be part of a church that is seeking to live lives of eternal significance. I can’t thank God enough for what He’s done for me. His grace is overwhelming.
Wars
A week ago at Hoboken Grace, I talked through the incredible way that God values us. I talked about how this supersedes the value that we so crave from those around us. I talked about how we can embrace the way He has valued us and how this can free us from allowing the joy of ChristmasContinue reading “Wars”
Emphasis
The things that we tend to focus on in God’s communication to us says a lot about who we are and how we understand Him. For example, it’s almost impossible to go to church in America without hearing that you should read your Bible. It is a huge part of how we lead people toContinue reading “Emphasis”
Waiting
One of our primary postures in our experience of God is a posture, that as a culture, we hate. It’s the posture of waiting. Waiting on God. To keep someone waiting is the equivalent of stealingContinue reading “Waiting”
Space
Life comes to no one; you must create it. You are either living in the life that someone else has created or the life you are currently creating. Life comes to no one. If you don’t create space in your church for people at different points on their faith journey you will breed pride inContinue reading “Space”
Lost
I’ve become increasingly aware recently of a word that seems to have lost its place in our lives. A word which has been chased from our pursuit of Christ in spite of the fact that it seems to stand at the center of His relationship with His Father. The word Obedience. We don’t like that word anymore.Continue reading “Lost”
Guilt
I had another conversation tonight with someone who believed that guilt was God working in their life. It’s unbelievable how we’ve missed the boat with this and it was awesome to share the truth with them! When you begin to see that guilt is based on pride, it clears up so much of the conversation. Continue reading “Guilt”
Discipline
I’m having this incredible conversation right now with someone in our church community about this idea of discipline and the role it plays in our relationship with God. I wanted to share part of my response to him tonight. The second reason it is important for you to understand how God uses discipline is theContinue reading “Discipline”
